We offer proven laser therapy on-site and at your home barn within the Southern NH area. Having tried all modalities out there on her own horses, and as a 20-year veteran in the medical technology industry, Kristin purchased a class IV laser to use not only on her horses but also offers treatment sessions to others. The class IV laser is the most powerful class of laser and thus able to penetrate more deeply into soft tissue such as the back, neck and hind end of the horse. It can help with healing on tendons, ligaments, muscles and can alleviate pain from arthritis. It can also speed up wound closure. Smaller, handheld lasers are not able to penetrate far beyond the skin layer and thus not effective at treating deep tissue.
How does it work?
High-power output laser energy is used to alleviate pain and treat inflammation by promoting tissue regeneration. The same technology is used in human medicine; it works by stimulating circulation which draws water, oxygen, and nutrients to the affected area. Often, the horse's reaction to the treatment may indicate where the animal has underlying tension, pain or stiffness before a lameness becomes apparent from the ground or under saddle.
