With her formative years spent training in the German state stud, Kristin values a correct, effective seat with minimal aids. "My aim is a light, happy horse that is balanced in itself and carries the rider with ease and confidence. This is built day-by-day by establishing trust with the horse, understanding who he is and what he needs to give his best." She believes horses are fundamentally generous animals.
"An independent seat is the basis for any discipline or level. The higher you go, the more control over your own body you need." With this as her guiding principle, Kristin focuses on coaching riders to understand and reach what will bring them fulfillment with their equine partner, whether that's Grand Prix competition or a safe pleasant trail ride in the great outdoors.
Over the years, Kristin's way of working with horses has been acknowledged by several leading trainers of our time, including Mr. Wallner of the German State Stud, Karl Mikolka, former Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna and Jo Hinneman, current and former team trainer for various national Olympic teams.
In 2021, Kristin and her own Millennium Falcon were selected for the prestigious NEDA Annual Symposium. She has backed and trained all of her own horses, achieving several Grand Champion & year-end awards, her German Reitabzeichen and her USDF Silver Medal.
"Riding is only one piece of what creates a successful dressage horse. Turnout, nutrition, shoeing, tack fit and many other factors MUST be optimized if you want an optimal performance." With this in mind, Kristin continuously looks at all factors potentially influencing the horse's performance each day and works with the owner, farrier, vet and others on the team to customize the optimal program for the horse and rider
over time.
